Dr. Nelson Brown is the Director of the Renaissance Schools and Principal of RenV. He served as teacher, assistant principal, and principal in Madison prior to joining Athens Renaissance in 2017.  Under Dr. Brown’s leadership Athens Renaissance  has seen extraordinary growth in areas such as enrollment, academic achievement, and innovative programs for blended and virtual students.   Dr. Brown is now committed to expanding the “Renaissance Brand” to more students and families seeking innovative options through the launching of Renaissance Virtual.   Dr. Brown earned his Bachelor of Science in Education from Athens State University, his Master of Science from the University of West Alabama, his Ed. S. from Walden University, and his Ed.D. from Walden University. He is happily married to his wife Suzie and they have three sons, Nelson Jr., Kobe, and Branden.
